At the Pan Asia Networking

At the Pan Asia Networking All Partners 2003 conference today, MINC Chairman, Khaled Fattal, presented an engraved pewter plaque to Rohinton Medhora, Vice President of the International Development Research Centre of Canada.

The second in a series, the PAN Conference was held at the Novotel Accor Hotel in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic from 3rd to 7th March 2003, hosted by the Science, Technology and Environmental Agency, Lao PDR and organised by IDRC and AMIC.

“In appreciation of the seed funding which IDRC gave to the precursor project which eventually led to the formation of MINC,” said Fattal as he made the presentation to Rohinton Medhora, “the inaugural board of MINC has conferred IDRC honorary organisational membership. I am pleased to make this presentation in recognition of the key role IDRC played in seeding MINC through its generous grant.”

“We are very pleased to have been involved in a project that has become an international movement on one issue of Internet policy change. We appreciate MINC for leading developing countries in pursuing the coordinated and orderly deployment of IDNs,” said Maria Ng, Regional Senior Program Specialist of IDRC’s Pan Asia Networking (PAN) programme.”
