ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW MINC BOARD FOR SESSION

The Multilingual Internet Names Consortium MINC has recently completed its election procedure. The newly elected MINC Board has voted for Khaled Fattal as its new Chairman, a Syrian-born Arab currently residing in UK. The elected Vice Chairman is Professor Dongman Lee, is from the Information and Communications University (ICU), Korea. Taking the Treasurer position is Dr S Subbiah, currently Chairman of i-DNS.net International Inc.

With the departure of Ms YJ Park as the CEO of MINC, MINC Board has re-appointed Professor Tan Tin Wee from the National Univ of SIngapore as the Acting CEO in the interim.

Since the inception of MINC, the efforts to promote multilingual domain names has largely been driven from the Far East, being a large populous region of non-English speaking communities. This was reflected in the founding chairmanship led by Professor SH Kyong, from Korea, now a Board member of ICANN, and the second chairman, Professor Shigeki Goto, from Japan, now Chairman of the Japanese Domain Name Association (JDNA), and the acting CEO Professor Tan Tin Wee from Singapore.
